Dr. Ajit Mopkar (MD, DGO, FICS) is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Goa, practising in the town of Mapusa in the north of the state. After his graduation (MBBS), he went on to obtain a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1988, as well as the postgraduate MD degree in 1989.

Over the last 25 years Dr. Mopkar has established a successful clinical practice, specialising in high-risk obstetrics, gynaecology, hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, and ART (assisted reproductive technology) procedures. Along with his wife Dr. Pritam, he established the Ankur Nursing Home in Mapusa in 2001. This is a fully-furnished, well-equipped, 20-bed hospital with state-of-the-ART equipment and technology. Today Ankur Nursing Home caters to a widespread clientele in Mapusa, North Goa and surrounding towns.

Keeping abreast of the evolving field of infertility and reproductive medicine, Dr. Ajit Mopkar and his team have added a feather to their cap by launching the state-of-the-art Ankur IVF unit, the first in Mapusa. Already showing promising results, Ankur IVF is making a name for itself by providing affordable treatment in infertility and advanced ART to its large clientele.

Dr. (Mrs.) Pritam Ajit Mopkar (MD, DGO, FICS) served the Asilo District Hospital in Mapusa as a Gynaecologist for five years after completing her medical education and training. Soon thereafter she joined her husband Dr. Ajit Mopkar in starting the Ankur Nursing Home in 2001. Dr. Pritam Mopkar has special interest in obstetric ultrasound and foetal medicine. She is a certified Sonologist from the Foetal Medicine Foundation, UK, for NT Scan, and pursues her passion in other critical areas in obstetric ultrasound such as target scan and colour Doppler. She regularly attends various workshops and training programmes all over the country to keep in touch with the latest in obstetric ultrasound and foetal medicine.
